Google taking over the universe!

OK, I’m being alarmist here. Google is only offering an interactive map of Mars…but still…

Data seems to be taken from NASA and other space agencies. You can scroll along, checking out the different craters, canyons and other geological features. Coloration for the relief map is a bit garish for my taste. But since there isn’t a proper color scheme in reality, I guess this is as good as any. The most interesting aspect I think is linking up articles of the THEMIS Odyssey. Gives a diverting read. So the question is, will there be a sudden explosion in planet mapping?
